Meet our Pro Bono Coordinators, Partners and CSR Partners from Across the Globe
US Pro Bono Coordinators and Partners
In the United States, pro bono is overseen by the US Pro Bono Partner, four Pro Bono Counsels, and several Pro Bono Coordinators. In addition, some offices have designated “Pro Bono Partners” who spend up to half of their time on pro bono matters. All of these individuals comprise the US Pro Bono Committee. Lisa Dewey, the US Pro Bono Partner, directs the program and heads the Committee. She and the Pro Bono Counsels, each of whom are also attorneys, manage the day-to-day operations of the Pro Bono program, including matching opportunities and attorneys, developing relationships with the legal service providers that screen clients and refer them to the firm, checking conflicts, mentoring associates, and working with many administrative functions of the firm. In addition, each lawyer on the pro bono team maintains her or his own pro bono caseload.
Each US office has at least one Pro Bono Coordinator -- either a partner or of counsel who has volunteered to serve in this role. The Coordinators ensure that the attorneys in their office have ample pro bono opportunities, provide guidance and mentoring on individual cases, and also liaise between the firm and local legal organizations. Some offices have local pro bono committees headed by the Coordinators.
