A substantial portion of Christie’s pro bono work involves representing veterans in connection with preparing and submitting claims for disability compensation benefits with the Veterans Administration. The work includes submitting initial claims for benefits as well as appeals of denied claims for benefits. She collaborates with students and the pro bono departments of the Duke University and the University of North Carolina law schools in connection with several of these claims.
