David Banie, East Palo Alto, Litigation

David focuses his service on victims of predatory lending schemes. He has worked on Valdez v. Downey Savings & Loan, which is currently pending in the Northern District of California, and Salas v. Hilltop Financial Mortgage, Inc., a case that recently settled. He also assists in coordinating the East Palo Alto office's support of local legal service providers. David serves as a firm representative on the Amicus Committee of the Silicon Valley Campaign for Legal Services, a group of young lawyers dedicated to building enthusiasm and financial support for the legal services agencies serving the area. In 2006, the firm honored David as a Firmwide Pro Bono Associate of the Year. In 2005 and 2006, the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County awarded him Certificates of Recognition for his work on behalf of its clients.
