Rich has been instrumental in guiding the Chicago office’s signature Juvenile Justice Project, which has been widely-recognized in the legal community as a model partnership between a private firm and a local law school (Northwestern University’s Bluhm Legal Clinic). He is also leading a team of lawyers in Chicago in partnership with the Bluhm Legal Clinic and Human Rights Watch pursuing advocacy and legislation with the aim of ending the practice in Illinois of sentencing juvenile offenders to life without possibility of parole. Finally, Rich is a leader of the team representing an indigent defendant in post-conviction capital appeals before the Mississippi Supreme Court and in federal habeas corpus proceedings.
