Sam Zabaneh, Austin, Corporate and SecuritiesSince 2005, Sam has served as outside general counsel to the Rawson-Saunders School, a nonprofit school for dyslexic children in Austin, Texas. During that time, Sam has prepared school policies and procedures and drafted, reviewed and negotiated leases, employment contracts, admission agreements and other contracts. In addition, Sam partnered with litigation colleagues and supervised representation of the school in several disputes.
Sam also represents Shoes for Austin, a nonprofit that provides new athletic shoes to needy children who achieve physical fitness goals that they set for themselves. His services to Shoes for Austin included assistance with an IRS response to a previously filed 501(c)(3) application and general governance advice.
Sam has joined the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of the Austin Area and engaged it as a pro bono client of DLA Piper. In addition, Sam took on leadership of a national research project on behalf of the national Parent-Teacher Association.
