New Perimeter, a nonprofit affiliate of DLA Piper dedicated exclusively to global pro bono work, reflects the firm's commitment to helping to address some of the world's most pressing problems. Launched by the firm in January 2005, New Perimeter is the first initiative of its kind among US firms and is designed to enable the firm's lawyers and paralegals to participate in pro bono projects of vital importance in the global community.
Through New Perimeter, the firm provides legal assistance on projects addressing gender equality, access to justice and law reform, hunger and food security, environmental protection, legal education and training, economic development and human rights. New Perimeter also provides pro bono legal services to build the capacity of qualifying global NGOs.
DLA Piper allocates 13,000-15,000 attorney hours per year to New Perimeter, which translates to $6-$7 million in donated legal services annually. Visit New Perimeter's website to learn more.
