When I came to DLA Piper from the U.S. Attorney’s Office I was happy to learn of the firm’s commitment to pro bono work. I had an on going relationship with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and was glad to learn that the firm fully supported my continued work. Recently we committed to providing legal support to the Financial Coalition Against Child Pornography, an assemblage of banks, credit card, and internet companies whose mission is to stop the sale of child pornography over the internet. It is great to be able to participate in a project that I truly believe will make a difference in protecting children.

Defeating Child Pornography
Protect children against pornography and abuse

The Financial Coalition Against Child Pornography was formed to leverage political cooperation and financial muscle to defeat the spread of child pornography.

Sixteen prominent global financial institutions have joined with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the International Center for Missing and Exploited Children to put an end to child pornography. The Coalition aims to stop the flow of money that makes the industry so lucrative.

Attorneys Carlos F. Ortiz, Keara Gordon, and Kara Bonitatibus have lead the efforts in conducting research and assisting in the creation and enforcement of laws in nations around the globe to protect children against pornography and abuse. DLA Piper is providing worldwide legal expertise and looks to add more international partners to the project.
